Two hands, two feet, two arms, two legs,
Everyone loves Number Two,
Without this useful number,
Who knows what we would do?!

to accompany

  • Why do you think people have two ears and two eyes?
  • Pick up toys using first one hand, then two hands. Why do you think you can do everything more quickly using two hands?
  • Colour in Number Two as a human being.

"Who does Number Two look like?"

Number Two was walking along a path when suddenly she heard a sob coming from underneath a bush, ‘I..I..I'm lost.'

Number Two peered underneath the bush and caught sight of a big grey chick.

‘Who's your mummy?' Number Two asked the baby bird.

‘My mummy's the biggest, most beautiful bird. She looks like you,' the chick cheeped.

‘Don't cry; we'll find her,' Number Two replied.

She put the baby bird on her tail, and they went to look for its mummy.

Soon Number Two caught sight of a huge bird sitting in a field.

‘Have you lost a baby, big bird?' Number Two asked politely.

‘I'm not a bird; I'm an aeroplane. Aeroplanes don't have babies,' the aeroplane replied.

‘Cheep cheep, that's not my mummy. My mummy looks like you,' the baby bird declared.

All of a sudden, Number Two saw a white bird with a neck as long as hers, swooping down from the sky.

‘My baby swan, I've been looking for you everywhere!' the bird cried .

‘Mummy, this is Number Two. She's been looking after me , ' the chick chirped.

‘Thanks for your help Number Two . You're very kind, and look just like a swan.'

Short movement GAME

The children get into pairs, hold hands and are given a bag full of different objects. Without letting go of each others' hands, the children must run up to the table, quickly empty all the items from their bag onto the table , and then put them back in the bag again . When everyone has returned to their places, the children must talk about what objects were in the bag, and how many . The quickest, most attentive group wins.

Counting to 2

Everybody has two ears,

For listening and hearing.

They're stuck on each side of the head

It's really quite endearing!

People also have two eyes,

Please treat yours with great care.
